Robert Stuart Strevell

Robert Stuart StrevellRobert Stuart Strevell, 67, passed away on May 9, 2012, at home in Galveston.  Born in Rhinebeck, New York, he was preceded in death by his parents Genevieve and Wallace Strevell.  He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Evan; brother, Wallace D. Strevell; sisters, Kathleen Seely and Joann Mueller; aunt, Ruth Sleight; nieces and nephews and numerous friends. 

Bob grew up in Houston and spent his career there after graduating from Southern Methodist University and South Texas College of Law.  His professions included teaching, corporate law and financial sales.  After retiring, he was active with the Galveston Alliance of Island Neighborhoods, the City of Galveston Families, Children and Youth Board and the Silk Stocking Historic District Neighborhood Association.  

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Malloy & Son Funeral Home, 3028 Broadway, Galveston, Texas.  Interment will be in Dallas, Texas at Restland Memorial Park.  Memorial donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders/P.O. Box 5022/Hagerstown, MD 21741 or to the Rosenberg Library—Galveston and Texas History Center/2310 Sealy/Galveston, TX 77550.
