Additional Early and Write in Votes will be added to some elections in Galveston County following an Election Day plagued by failures of scanning equipment, but most races are complete. Numbers

In Galveston Lewis Rosen will be in a runoff with Mayor Joe Jaworski.

Cornelia Harris Banks beat Tarris Woods for Galveston City Council District 1, Rusty Legg won the race for District 2, Elizabeth Beeton won the District 3 election, Dianna Puccetti and Norman Pappous will be in a runoff for District 4, Terrilyn Tarlton won the race for District 5 and Marie Robb won the race for District 6.

La Marque Mayor Bobby Hocking was reelected on Saturday.

Kevin Holland defeated Janis Lowe in a race for Mayor of Friendswood. Steve Rockey and Jim Hill won their city council races in Friendswood

Rick Wilkenfeld and Thelma Bowie have apparently won their races for the Texas City City Commission. A few mail in votes are still to be counted by the county, but not enough to change the outcome of either race.

Santa Fe Mayor Ralph Stenzel was reelected but a bond election for a new Public Safety Building failed. Santa Fe Police Chief Kenneth Campbell has posted his comments on the failure of the bond election. Click Here for his comments.

Randy H. Strickland leads in Election Day voting for Hitchcock City Commission. Early and Write-In votes have not been provided by the Galveston County Clerk.

Matt Webber and Steve Jones were elected to Shoreacres City Council. Incumbent Nancy Schnell was defeated.

Robert Duncan won the most votes in a four person race for Seabrook City Council, but officials report that a recount will be required. Gary Johnson was elected to another city council position. Click Here to review the numbers.

John Skelton was elected to El Lago City Council.

Diana Newland will face Edward Lapeyre in a runoff for Webster City Council; and Alexandra (Alex) Dietrich will face Carlos J. Villagomez in a runoff for the city council

Himesh Gandhi won a three person race for Sugar Land City Council.

Keith Ordeneaux will face Tammy Dexter in a runoff for Pearland City Council.

Port Arthur City Council Member R.E. "Bob" Williamson defeated challenger Zulema Escobedo. Willie "Bae" Lewis, Jr. defeated Jack Chatman, Jr. in another Port Arthur City Council race.

The Port Arthur 4A Sales Tax for Children\'s and Amateur Sport and Athletic Purposes was approved.

Page Rander, Dee Scott and Charles Pond appear to have won election of the Clear Creek Independent School District Board of Trustees. (Early votes were not tabulated in the posted returns)
