Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to award a $569,327 contract to APAC Texas for improvements to Avenue H.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to renew a contract with Five Star Correctional Services for inmate meals.

The contract will include a price increase from $0.834 per meal to $0.855 per meal for inmates and officers, which will go into effect on June 1.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a multi-year master agreement with Garver, LLC for the Airport Improvement Program work at Jack Brooks Regional Airport.

The commissioners court tabled action regarding a burn ban order for the county.  There is currently no burn ban in effect.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve hotel occupancy tax allocation recommendations by the Jefferson County Tourism Committee for the Texas Amateur Softball Association, G.T. Baseball and the Lincoln High School Mass Reunion.

The Texas Amateur Softball Association had requested $7,500, with the committee recommending an allocation of $1,750.  G.T. Baseball had requested $2,500, with the committee recommending an award of $1,500.  The allocation will be made for non-bid fees associated with three tournaments.

The Lincoln High School Mass Reunion had requested $8,700.  The committee recommended providing an allocation of $1,200 for the event.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a $27,272 expenditure for the purchase of computer tablets, fingerprint scanners and other equipment to be used in implementing a paperless misdemeanor court document program for County Courts at Law No. 2 and No. 3.

The commissioners court issued a proclamation recognizing Jefferson County Drainage District No. 3 on its 100th anniversary.

The commissioners court issued a proclamation celebrating the 20th year of Leadership Southeast Texas.

The commissioner court issued a proclamation in recognition of National Tourism Week, which is observed May 5 through May 13.

The commissioners court also issued proclamations in recognition of Elder Abuse Prevention Month and National Drug Court Month.

The commissioners court heard a presentation from Spindletop Services regarding Mental Health Month.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote.  All members were present. Agenda
