The Hitchcock Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted unanimously to name Carla Massa as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.
The item was discussed during an executive session. Massa currently serves as principal at Hitchcock Primary.
The board voted unanimously to maintain the current board officers in their positions for the next year. Dianne James will continue to serve as president, Monica Cantrell as vice president, and Estelle Holmes as secretary.
The board voted unanimously to approve the employment of Sam Zimmerle as a science teacher and Holly Mueck as an ELA teacher at Hitchcock High School.
The board voted unanimously to move the regular board meeting in July to July 10, as opposed to July 17.
The board postponed naming the Above and Beyond Citizen Award recipient until the June meeting.
The board requested James meet with partents, students and cheer sponsors regarding a vendor for cheerleader uniforms and a long-standing cheerleading policy.
The board took no action on scheduling a special meeting for June 11 or June 12.
The board took no action regarding the contract of the superintendent.
The board took no action regarding assignment of at-will and professional employees.
