Officer as U.S. Marshall for the Southern District of Texas

Houston – In response to breaking news from the White House that Congressman Gene Green and the Texas Democratic Delegation’s nomination for the U.S. Marshall for the Southern District of Texas was accepted, Congressman Green released the following statement:

“I’ve known Gary Blankinship for a long time, both as an HPD officer and as an advocate for injured officers and the families of fallen officers. He’ll be an excellent candidate to serve as U.S. Marshall for the Southern District of Texas.”

Congressman Green and other Members of the Texas Delegation have written to the Administration since 2009 in support of Mr. Blankinship’s nomination. Mr. Blankinship has over 31 years of experience in law enforcement.
