Samson Energy Gets Hip to Habitat

Oak Island, Texas – On Thursday May 3, Samson Energy Company corporate volunteers joined with the Galveston Bay Foundation and students of Dobie High School in the Foundation’s “Get Hip to Habitat” program.

The “Get Hip to Habitat” program introduces students to the importance of maintaining our environment and crucial steps to prevent further damage from natural erosion. In this particular project, volunteers took part in restoring water front property that has seen a steady rate of erosion since the early 1900’s. Plants that were nurtured and grown by the students for the past several months provide not only a teaching experience, but a long-lasting impact on the environment. Through GBF’s program, the shoreline will be protected from further erosion.

"Samson is proud to participate in community projects such as providing volunteers and funds to the Galveston Bay Foundation as it seeks to educate our future generation of the importance of environmental preservation” says Steve Trujillo, Manager Regulatory Affairs.
