Texas Governor Rick Perry has made several appointments to the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board, the Texas Early Learning Council, the State Soil and Water Conservation Board, and the State Employee Charitable Campaign Policy Committee.

Governor Perry appointed Eric Garza of Brownsville and Cheryln "Cherie" Townsend of Austin to the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board for terms to expire at the pleasure of the governor. The board oversees the treatment and prevention of juvenile delinquency, and administers juvenile justice funds.  Appointments

Governor Perry appointed Michele Adams of Georgetown and Jonel Huggins of Kyle to the Texas Early Learning Council for terms to expire at the pleasure of the governor. The council will assess early childhood education and care programs across the state and develop opportunities for collaboration and coordination among state and federally-funded child development entities, and child care and early education programs to ensure children have access to high quality programs.  Appointments

Governor Perry reappointed Larry Jacobs of Montgomery to the State Soil and Water Conservation Board for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2014. The board administers Texas' soil and water conservation law, and coordinates conservation and pollution abatement programs throughout the state.  Appointment

Governor Perry appointed Greg Davidson of Lexington, Trent Marshall of Burleson, Louri O'Leary of Austin, and Cecile Young of Austin to the State Employee Charitable Campaign Policy Committee for terms to expire Jan. 1, 2014. The committee determines the eligibility of entities for participation in the State Employee Charitable Campaign, and oversees the activities of the campaign.  Appointments
