El Lago City Council on Wednesday voted unanimously to name Jeff Tave as mayor pro tem.
The city council voted unanimously to order the canvassing of the results of the May 12 General Election.
City Secretary Ann Vernon administered the oath of office to newly-elected Council Member John Skelton, and to Tave, who was unopposed for re-election to his position on council. Skelton defeated David Tharp for election to Position 4 on the council, which had been held by Cody Taylor.
Carolynn Stanley was also unopposed for re-election to Position 3 on the city council, but was absent from the meeting. She will be sworn in at a future meeting.
The city council voted unanimously to approve an ordinance adopting the city's tax exemptions for 2012 and all future years until amended.
The city council tabled action regarding an interlocal agreement with the City of Taylor Lake Village for the services of Lakeview Police Department.
The city council voted 3-0-1, with Skelton abstaining, to approve the April 2012 bills.
The city council tabled action regarding an ordinance amending the city's Sign Ordinance to change the definition of “spectacular signs”.
The city council took no action regarding an appointment to the Budget Committee.
The city council took no action regarding the minutes of the May 2 city council meeting.
All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Stanley was absent from the meeting. Agenda
