Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 5417 Anderson about 2:05 p.m. on Wednesday (May 23).

The suspect, Casimiro Campos (H/m, DOB: 3-4-48), is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court. Campos is accused in causing the death of his passenger, Amelia Perez, 46, of Houston. A photo of suspect Campos is attached to this news release.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant N. Perry and Officer A. Sampson reported:

Campos was driving a blue Chevrolet Suburban and initially was involved in a minor accident near the intersection of South Post Oak Road at Anderson. The Suburban then traveled through a service station parking lot at the above address and struck the wall of the convenience store. Campos then drove the vehicle through a fence and into a ditch behind the store. Ms. Perez was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she died later that day.
