LAKEWOOD TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL HATTERAS RENDEZVOUS

Lakewood Yacht Club will host its second annual Hatteras Rendezvous on Fri., June 29 through Sun., July 1 in their Inner Harbor in front of the clubhouse, 2425 NASA Parkway, Seabrook, TX. Chairman Asa Lockhart and Co-Chairman Brannon Young are planning a full agenda of activities for Hatteras owners and their families.

“Last year’s rendezvous was so successful and enjoyable, we could not pass up the opportunity to offer this fun weekend again to all Hatteras owners around the Gulf Coast,” remarked Lockhart. “There are numerous such rendezvous on the east and west coast of the country, but as far as I know, this is the only one on the Gulf Coast.”

On the agenda for Fri. evening is a band and buffet with a Kay West theme. After breakfast on Sat. morning, there will be an educational program with topics such as marine electronics, diesel maintenance, marine furniture, wood working, and much more. A Hatteras representative has been invited to speak on refitting and updating vessels. Participants are invited to send questions for the Hatteras rep to Lockhart at his e-mail:

Confirmed is a presentation by Roger Wetherington on electrical systems. He will perform courtesy visits aboard participant’s vessels upon request.

Young relates that a couples’ fashion show will be held on Saturday afternoon. This was very popular last year. A progressive cocktail reception and appetizers aboard several boats will take place on Sat. evening followed by a poolside party, again, with a Key West theme.
