Galveston, Texas – Starting this weekend visitors to Galveston can hop aboard the city’s tourist shuttle to travel between their favorite island attractions. New 35-foot, air-conditioned coach-style buses, featuring distinctive graphic designs, will transport riders between the Seawall, downtown Galveston, and the Moody Gardens area. The service is an easy, inexpensive, and convenient way to get around Galveston this summer!

Island Transit shuttle buses will travel between Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, and the Historic Downtown Strand area. The convenient service will run every 30-35 minutes, 11:00AM – 12:00AM midnight each Saturday and Sunday this summer.

City officials resumed this transit service route to enhance mobility and ease congestion along the island’s major thoroughfares. The pilot service will debut this weekend.
