Cornyn Honors Memorial Day
AUSTIN – U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, issued the following statement in honor of Memorial Day:
“Texas has been home to millions of American heroes – including many who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedoms and way of life since the birth of our nation.
“While the uniforms and the battlefields have changed, the strength and courage of our military men and women has not.
“We should all remember on this day, and every day to come, all that America’s Armed Forces have given for us, and everything they have given to us.
“I want to extend my deepest and most sincere thanks to the families of the military heroes we’re honoring this Memorial Day.
“May God bless you and may He continue to bless the great state of Texas.”
Senator Cornyn serves on the Finance, Judiciary, Armed Services and Budget Committees. He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee’s Immigration, Refugees and Border Security subcommittee. He served previously as Texas Attorney General, Texas Supreme Court Justice, and Bexar County District Judge.
