Mike Anderson defeated incumbent Harris County District Attorney Pat Lykos in the Republican Primary.

Houston City Council Member Mike Sullivan defeated incumbent Harris County Tax Assessor Collector Don Sumners in the Republican Primary.

In Galveston County, Henry Trochesset and John Kinard led a crowded race for the Republican nomination for Galveston County Sheriff and will meet in a runoff.

Ryan Dennard and Mark Foster will meet in a runoff for the Republican nomination for Galveston County Commissioner Precinct 1.

Galveston County Precinct 3 Commissioner Stephen Holmes handily won the Democratic Party nomination for relelection.

Clint Wayne Brown defeated incumbent Constable Don Cherry for the Democratic nomination for Constable Precinct 1.

Kerry Neves and George Young will meet in a runoff for the Republican nomination for the 10th District Court.

Galveston County Constables Jimmy Fullen and Jerry Fisher won their races in the Republican Primary; but Rick Sharp defeated incumbent County Constable Pam Matranga.

Incumbent Constable Jerry Fisher defeated challenger D.J. Alvarez in the Republican Primary.

Barbara Meeks was reelected Galveston County Republican Party Chair.

Brazoria County Tax Assessor-Collector Ro'Vin Garrett won the Republican nomination for reelection.  Alvin Police Chief Mike Merkel will be in a runoff against Larry Griffin for the Republican nomination for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, Place 1.

Jefferson County Sheriff Mitch Woods was nominated for reelection in the Democratic Primary.

Troy E. Nelhs won the Republican nomination for Sheriff of Fort Bend County.

Larry Taylor won the Republican primary for state Senate District 11.

Randy Weber and Felicia Harris will meet in a runoff for the Republican nomination to the Congressional seat being vacated by Ron Paul.  Nick Lampson won the Democratic Party primary.

Incumbent Republican Congressmen John Culberson, Kevin Brady and Pete Olson won their primary elections.  Kesha Rogers won the Democratic Party primary for the seat Olson holds.

Incumbent State Representative Alma Allen won the Democratic Party nomination despite a challenge from Houston City Council Member Wanda Adams.  Representative Borris Miles survived a challenge by Al Edwards.  Representative Garnet Coleman defeated challenger Ray Hill.
