WILSON PHILLIPS TO OPEN THE GRAND 1894 OPERA HOUSE
2012 SUMMER SEASON TUESDAY, JUNE 5th
GALVESTON ISLAND, TEXAS
- The internationally-acclaimed trio – Wilson Phillips – will open The Grand’s sizzlin’ summer season Tuesday, June 5th. Taking center stage for just one “feel good” performance at 7pm, Wilson Phillips is the dynamic trio comprised of Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson, and Chynna Phillips - three amazingly-talented ladies each with an incredibly harmonic voice.
The famous offspring of the Beach Boy's Brian Wilson (Carnie and Wendy Wilson) and the Mamas and the Papas (Chynna Phillips – daughter of John and Michelle Phillips), Wilson Phillips are in the midst of celebrating their 20th anniversary as a recording act and have just released their latest and long-awaited tribute album –Dedication – which features classic songs from their parents’ legendary groups.
In 1989 the trio released a debut album, Wilson Phillips - a Grammy-nominated smash. Then, history was made in 1992 when BillBoard declared their debut album “the best selling album of all time by an all female group” – and even toppled the Supremes for the "best selling female group" of all time for a single album.
Come drift back and feel the nostalgia as Wilson Phillips entertain you with classic songs such as "Monday, Monday" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice". This concert - “the perfect recipe” for fun this summer – is sure to put audiences in the mood for a toe-tapping evening of “Good Vibrations”.
Ticket prices are $22 to $88. Call for pricing on Box Seats. Special discounts for group and
senior tickets may be available. For information about this and other performances scheduled,
please contact The Grand's box office at 409.765.1894, 800.821.1894, or visit the Grand's
