ALG thanks Rep. Green for voting to ban funding
for Obama’s ocean zoning and National Ocean Policy
Fairfax, VA — Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson issued the following statement praising Rep. Gene Green for supporting an amendment by Rep. Bill Flores (R-Texas) to the FY 2013 Departments of Commerce and Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill to halt funding for the implementation of Obama’s ocean zoning and National Ocean Policy.
“We thank Rep. Green for standing up against this takeover of America’s oceans, lakes and watersheds. Tens of thousands of jobs could be lost should this administration continue with this absurd power grab to regulate fishing, boating and recreating on our waters. Since the president pursued his agenda with an Executive Order in violation of the separation of powers, it is up to Congress to fight for the America people and make sure no taxpayer dollars go to implementing such an order.
“Law-abiding Americans should not be forced to choose between their livelihoods and following an Executive Order that has not passed Congress and is not being funded by Congress. This is the ultimate thug government mentality that has become all too prevalent with this Administration.
“By voting to ban funding for the Obama power grab, Green is working to protect American jobs and resources from an encroaching, lawless Administration. Green deserves the praise and thanks of all Americans.”
