Texas Governor Rick Perry has made several appointments to Texas Medical Board District Review Committees Three and Four, the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, and the Texas Council on Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke.

Governor Perry appointed Surendra Varma of Lubbock and Robert Hootkins of Austin to the Texas Medical Board District Review Committees Three and Four. Committee members evaluate medical practice or professional competency and make recommendations on investigations conducted by the board.  Appointments

Governor Perry appointed Sockalingam "Sam" Kannappan of Houston and Edward Summers of Austin to the Texas Board of Professional Engineers for terms to expire Sept. 26, 2017. The board licenses qualified engineers, enforces the Texas Engineering Practice Act and regulates the practice of professional engineering in Texas.  Appointments

Governor Perry appointed Paula Gomez of Brownsville, Suzanne Hildebrand of Live Oak, Floristene Johnson of DeSoto, and John N. Rutledge of Austin to the Texas Council on Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke. The council educates, informs and coordinates activities to reduce the human and financial toll of cardiovascular disease and stroke.  Appointments
