Ready, Set, College!

This summer, get ready to survive and thrive at any college or university with College of the Mainland’s Ready, Set, College! workshops.

Students can choose to attend any or all of the free classes: College Study Skills, Budget 101 and Mastering Self-Management. Workshops will share essential skills from how to fill out the FAFSA to taking excellent notes and creating action lists.

Besides learning skills, students can meet other students, connect with educators and even have a chance to win door prizes.

“For anyone who wants to go to college, these classes are a good first step,” said Theresa Jones, director of advising.

The one-day, stand-alone workshops are held at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesdays from June 19 to July 31. Students may arrive 45 minutes before class for a tour of the COM campus. Staff will be available to assist in submitting COM admissions applications and to provide financial aid information.

For more information, call the Student Help Center at 409-933-8663.
