Galveston County Navigation District

The Galveston County Navigation District No. 1 Board of Commissioners on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve a $12,007 contract with EyeCam Surveillance, Inc. for a project with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for replacement of security camera equipment that was damaged during Hurricane Ike. "The next (low bid) was $22,000 and the next one was $28,000," said District Director Frank Incaprera.

"So you are recommending the low?" asked Chair Vandy Anderson.

"I'm recommending the low bidder," Incaprera answered.

Incaprera reviewed problems regarding the installations of tide depth gauges on the fender system for the
Herbert Schmidt Pelican Island Causeway.

The board took no action on a claim for damages by Charlye Hebert for damages to her automobile she blamed on road conditions incurred on February 18.

All other agenda items were approved.  All votes were unanimous. Agenda

The board reviewed a booklet prepared for the operators of the bridge, "A Hurricane Disaster Control Program".
