Texas Governor Rick Perry today announced appointments to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board and the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation.
Perry appointed Robert "Barney" Barnwell, III of Magnolia to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board. The board administers and enforces laws relating to certificates of title and registration of vehicles, identifying markings on commercial motor vehicles, motor carrier registration, single state registration, motor transportation brokers, foreign commercial motor transportation, sale or lease of motor vehicles, and salvage vehicle dealers.

Perry appointed Fernando Trevino, Jr. of Del Rio to the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation. The corporation is responsible for guaranteeing loans made under the federal guaranteed student loan program.
