ExxonMobil Future Leaders Summer Youth Program
Kicks Off with Leadership Training at the Lamar University Gray Library on the Eighth Floor
On Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Lamar University on the 8th floor of the Gray Library, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. thirty students from throughout the city of Beaumont will participate in a youth leadership workshop conducted by Leadership Beaumont.
Leadership Beaumont is a program of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce operated by the Beaumont Chamber Foundation that explores various concepts of leadership and encourages participants to become involved in their community.
The Leadership Beaumont Youth Leadership program is the first-day activity of a six-weeks summer youth employment program known as the ExxonMobil Future Leaders. During the program, students will be employed at Lamar University, Beaumont Independent School District or the City of Beaumont. During the day's activities, session leaders will challenge the students to define their roles as future leaders so they may make their respective communities a better place in which to live.
This program is in its twenty-second year and has been underwritten by ExxonMobil. Students have been selected from Central Medical Magnet High School, Ozen Magnet High School, and West Brook High School.
The students will enter their senior year in August 2012 and will earn approximately $1,800 during the program. Their employment will commence June 12 and end on July 24, 2012.
Please see the schedule of events planned for the daylong training program.
