Hurricane Seminar Aims to Prepare Residents

Officials with Brazoria County, Alvin and other entities will present information about hurricane preparedness at a seminar on June 28 at the Alvin Community College Theatre.

The seminar is open to the public.

Speakers include Alvin City Manager Terry Lucas and National Weather Service meteorologist Gene Hafele

Lucas will discuss how to be prepared in the event of an evacuation due to a hurricane.
Hassell will give a presentation on the history of hurricanes in Brazoria County as well as an update on the hurricane season so far.

There will also be a question and answer session after the presentations.

The seminar will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
