Black Coffee by Agatha Christie opening at the Company OnStage
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- Opening on June 29th and running for five weekends through July 28, 2012, Company OnStage presents BLACK COFFEE by Dame Agatha Christie.
Black Coffee features one of Christie’s most famous creations, the Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot. Poirot and friend, Arthur Hastings, are invited to the home of world famous physicist, Sir Claud Amory. Upon arrival the duo discover that their would-be host is a murder victim. Adding to the mystery is a stolen formula. Needless to say, there is no shortage of suspects among Sir Claud’s family and friends.
Disappointed in how Poirot was depicted by another playwright, Agatha Christie wrote Black Coffee in 1930. It was her first play and it led to an extremely successful second career. The best-selling author of all time, Agatha Christie was made Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 1971.
Black Coffee will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. from June 29, 2012 through July 28, 2012. Regular ticket price is $15.00 and discount ticket prices are available for seniors, students and groups of 10 or more. Reservations are strongly recommended.
