Public Health Department Holding HIV Testing Day
–The Beaumont Public Health Department’s Ready in Red Campaign will host its annual HIV testing event on Wednesday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will be held in conjunction with National HIV Testing Day.
The Health Department will conduct the testing in the Health Services II Building, located next to the Health Department’s main offices at 950 Washington Blvd. The tests are free, and results will be available in 20 to 45 minutes. Education and local statistics will also be provided. There is no residency requirement to participate.
More than 66,000 Texans are infected with HIV, and the number increases annually by about 3,400. One in five living with HIV is unaware of their infection, and every 9 ½ minutes, someone is infected. This event is designed to prevent the transmission of HIV.
For more information, please contact Kenneth Coleman at 409-654-3622.
