Galveston County
Clear Lake Shores City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Wednesday, June 20, 2012

Correction: Clear Lake Shores City Council on Tuesday took no action on the appointment of Kenneth Cook as chief of police.  The city council did vote unanimously to form a police advisory committee.

The city council voted unanimously to approve the formation of a committee to explore options for staffing of the position of city administrator.

Shelley’s contract as city administrator ends in January.  The committee would review options for filling the position after that point, said Council Member Richard Sowrey, who requested the item be placed on the agenda.

“The budget workshop will review the funding available for this position and the committee will find out what the average salaries are for small city administrators,” Sowrey said. “The committee would also recommend what would be necessary to move forward on filling the opening. Two council members and two citizens would make up the committee.”

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Pam Linn to the Zoning Board of Adjustment.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote.  All members were present.  Agenda
