Congressman Green to host 18th Annual Citizenship Day

Houston – Rep. Gene Green will host his 18th Annual Citizenship Day this Saturday, June 23, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Houston Community College Northline Campus.  This annual event gives legal permanent residents the opportunity to fill out an application for U.S. citizenship with the help of volunteers.

Congressman Green will be available for media interviews from 10:00 to 11:00 am.

Services at Citizenship Day are free of charge but applicants must pay the regular application fees to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  USCIS also requires that applicants have a minimum of 5 years of legal permanent residency or be married to a U.S. citizen for at least 3 years, and be able to speak and read English.

Due to volume constraints, only the first 300 attendees can be served.  More information can be found at http://green.house.gov/event/18th-annual-citizenship-day or by contacting our office at 281-999-5879.
