GALVESTON-Thelma Neal, 74, received her reward of eternal rest on June 16, 2012, at UTMB Hospital.
Thelma was born December 6, 1937 in Galveston, TX to Credential, Sr. and Gladys Hall Lindsey. She attended school in Galveston and was a 1956 graduate of Central High School. She later attended Texas Southern University. She had many employment opportunities which included: a waitress at Gaido’s, manager of the Gulf/Chevron Station (61st St.), a dispatcher for Busy Bee Cab, as well as for the Galveston Police Dept.. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church serving as an Usher, with the Choir and Mission Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tom Neal; brother, Credential Lindsey, Jr..
She leave with precious memories a son, Gerald Lindsey, Sr. (Evelyn) of Beaumont, TX; seven grandchildren, Rev. Gerald Lindsey, Jr., LaTanya Lindsey, Lindsey Riggs, Jaime Mitchell, Raneisha Lindsey, Joshua Lindsey and Ja’Kory Lindsey; thirteen great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Miller; and a host of step children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11AM on Saturday, June 23, 2012, followed by a life celebration service at 1:00 PM at Mt Pilgrim Baptist Church with Pastor Lorenzo Williams officiating.
