Texas is preparing for the June arrival of Trout Fishing in America, where they will perform during the first annual Southern Summer Night on June 30, 2012 at the Carl Parker Center on the Lamar State Collage – Port Arthur campus.
This annual event, presented by the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce and the Port Arthur International Seafarers Center, will be a fun family event with children’s activities, live entertainment and all you can eat summer favorites prepared by The Golden Triangle Chef’s Association. A new band will be featured every year. This year’s event will host Trout Fishing in America and the Classics Recovered Band. Trout Fishing in America is the longstanding musical partnership of Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet. The name taken from a Richard Brautigan novel seems almost as incongruent as a picture of this musical duo-Ezra Idlet (guitar) stands six feet nine inches and Keith Grimwood (bass), five feet five and one half inches. In September 2010 they released a folk/rock album Lookin’ at Lucky, with the most recent release being a children’s book/CD called “Chicken Joe forgets Something Important”.
The pre headliner will feature the Classics Recovered Band, who mixes traditional country with classic rock and roll tunes. They have opened for legends such as Charlie Daniels, Ronnie Milsap, John Anderson and Daryl Worley. You will love the sounds of the Classics Recovered so get ready for a boot-scootin good time with the stars!!! Flyer
