Law enforcement officials probing illegal drug sales charged eleven people yesterday when they raided locations in Texas City and unincorporated Dickinson.
Galveston County Sheriff’s Special Crimes Unit detectives started an investigation several months ago stemming from neighborhood complaints and reports from patrol deputies working the Dickinson area. Working with U. S. Marshals, DEA and DPS Narcotics agents, detectives from the Galveston County Auto Crimes Task Force, and officers from Dickinson and Houston Police Departments, Special Crimes detectives apprehended nine of the eleven persons charged when they arrived to serve a search and arrest warrants in the 2800 block of Avenue B in unincorporated Dickinson.
Arrested and charged with one count each of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance were: Delano Ray Collins, 37, Timothy Wayne Fletcher, 24, Tyrone Johnson, 42, Cynthia Michelle Jones, 27, Timothy Wayne Paige, 26, and Darrell Wayne Rollins, 52, all of Dickinson. Fletcher was also charged on outstanding warrants for Evading Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance as the result of a May 29 incident in Dickinson during which he ran from Sheriff’s deputies when they found narcotics in his car.
Raymond Troy Craddock, 47, currently a TDCJ inmate, was also charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance in connection with the investigation.
Two other persons, Jeremiah James King, 26, and Kevin Dwayne Praylor, 34, both of Dickinson, were arrested on outstanding traffic warrants from Kemah and Webster, respectively.
Jesse Eugene Young, 37, of Dickinson, resisted officers when they stopped to question him near the Avenue B search location. Young stands accused of taking a Taser away from one of the deputies, as well as striking both of them as they struggled to take him into custody. He is charged with Taking a Weapon from a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, and two counts of Assault on a Public Servant.
Sheriff’s investigators also served a search warrant yesterday afternoon at a residence in the 9100 block of Vicksburg in Texas City, arresting 34-year-old Joseph Allen Nunn. He is charged with two counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Detectives found over 4 grams of suspected cocaine during their search.
Bonds for those arrested range from $20,000 to $500,000. All but King and Praylor remain in custody at the Galveston County Jail.
