Tuesday, July 10th at 7pm Book Club: Share an interesting book. Book Club meets the 2nd Tuesday each month at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments are provided.
Wednesday, July 11th at 7pm Author Talk with Mary Lou Darst. Mary Lou Darst is the author of War Ready: In My Father's Shadow. For young Mary Lou, life was an adventure. Her father served in the military, and she traveled the world with him and her family. His assignments took them to Alaska, Virginia, Japan, Texas, and Germany. This candid memoir recounts her family's life in new places and cultures following World War II. What was it like being a child living in Japan seven years after the war? What was it like to grow up moving between cultures?
Thursday, July 12th at 6:30pm Demystifying the Box: Lessons in Basic Computer Hardware presented by John McCord. The purpose of this presentation is to explain the fundamentals of common computer hardware in plain language. After the lesson, you should be able to understand important computer hardware terminology and purpose. A desired outcome of this lesson is to enable people to make informed decisions when purchasing new computer hardware.
Wednesday, July 18th at 7pm FPL Poetry Series presents a poetry reading with acclaimed poets John Milkereit, Donna Cozart Pauley, Dodie Meeks, and Glynn Monroe Irby. Previous attendees have called these poets and their work fantastic, moving, and a hoot.
Thursday, July 19 at 10:30am Hurricane Preparedness: A representative from the City of Friendswood Office of Emergency Management will share information on city's hurricane plan and answer questions. Pick up Emergency Preparedness Guide at the circulation desk.
