Galveston Police Arrest Man on Animal Cruelty Charges
Pit Bull Found Dead in Vehicle

Galveston, Texas – On 07/04/2012 at approximately 6:40 pm Galveston Police responded to a report of a dog found dead in a vehicle. Officers arrived to find the owner, Bill Omer, holding the deceased pet. Investigators believe that the animal, a pit bull, had been left unattended in the vehicle. It is believed that the animal died due to heat exhaustion. A necropsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death. Bill Omer is charged with Cruelty to Non Livestock Animal and has a bond set at $15,000.
