Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan Public Input Continues
Sugar Land, Texas
- Approximately 54 residents attended Sugar Land’s public meeting on June 25 to provide input on an update to the City’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan.
The Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan will amend the City’s Hike and Bike Trails Master Plan by incorporating walking and biking facilities for mobility purposes in addition to the prior focus on recreation.
Participants at the public meeting provided feedback through group activities on citywide destinations for walkers and cyclists, preferred designs for trails, options for on-street roadways and support for funding options.
“We’re pleased to see so much community interest in the City’s plans for accommodating walking and biking,” said Director of Transportation and Long-Range Planning Patrick Walsh. “We know the community will continue to provide valuable feedback throughout the remainder of the project.”

and:
● complete a survey and mapping activity (available through July
16);
● post a comment at the City’s interactive Online Town Hall
meeting;
● sign up for e-mail updates about the project; or
● find out about future public meetings.
The updated plan will identify a network of pedestrian and bicycle routes throughout Sugar Land. Based on public feedback, the plan will identify key destinations, determine where connections are needed and how they should be made and identify preferred route types and improve challenging crossings.
