Galveston Chamber of Commerce to Introduce “Out-of-the-Box” Box
Press Release
Friday, July 13, 2012

Galveston,TX.- The Galveston Chamber of Commerce created the Out-of-the-Box Committee in 2010 to develop fresh ideas to keep the organization in a constant state of progression.  The most notable ideas to come from the committee have been the chamber’s highly acclaimed young professionals group, the C-Crewe, and their inaugural County-Wide Mixer which successfully engaged not only Galveston based businesses but those located across Galveston County.  The Out-of-the-Box Committee is ready to roll out their newest concept:  the “Out-of-the-Box” Box.

The “Out-of-the-Box” Box is seemingly a suggestion box that will be displayed in the chamber’s office at their new location on the corner of 23rd and Mechanic in Historic Downtown Galveston.  However, the box will also travel with the chamber staff to various chamber functions to capture your ideas, suggestions and comments.  The Galveston Chamber’s Out-of-the-Box Committee will review the submitted suggestions at their monthly meetings and take action when necessary.  “I’d like to invite you to send us your creative ideas.  Our committee and our chamber are always looking for the next great idea to improve the chamber’s service to its members and the community,” said John Paul Listowski, Chair of the Out-of-the-Box Committee and President of HomeLife Builders.

The box will be introduced to the membership and the community at the chamber’s upcoming grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.  The Board of Directors, staff and volunteers would like to invite the business community to take part in this celebration of their new office location at 2228 Mechanic Street, Suite 101 in Galveston.  The event will take place on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  It will be an excellent time to learn more about the Galveston Chamber of Commerce as well as make connections with the business community.  If you would like to attend, please RSVP to jgonder@galvestonchamber.com or call (409) 763-5326.  And in case you haven’t heard, the Galveston Chamber of Commerce is now open 7 days a week in their highly business and visitor-friendly new establishment!  Pop in anytime for a bite of fresh popcorn and an informative, welcoming face.

The Galveston Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1845 and is Texas’ first chamber of commerce.  The mission of the Galveston Chamber is To Promote and Advocate for Business.  For more information about the Galveston Chamber of Commerce, visit them online at www.GalvestonChamber.com, like them on Facebook – www.facebook.com/GalvestonChamber, follow them on Twitter – www.twitter.com/GalvChamber, watch them on YouTube – www.youtube.com/GalvestonChamber, download them at www.MyChamberApp.com or call (409) 763-5326.
