ANDREA HARROW JOINS THE WOMAN’S HOSPITAL OF TEXAS AS CHIEF NURSING OFFICER

Houston, TX — HCA affiliated The Woman’s Hospital of Texas Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Linda Russell announced that 47-year-old Andrea Harrow, MSN, RN, has been promoted to the hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).  Harrow comes to The Woman’s Hospital from HCA affiliated West Houston Medical Center where she served as CNO and has functioned in several other leadership roles including Vice-President and CNO of Nursing at Valley Baptist Medical Center, Director of Accreditation and Professional Practice at Memorial Hermann Hospital, and Director of Performance Improvement/ Risk Management at Cleveland Regional Medical.

“I am looking forward to joining the team at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas,” Harrow said. “It is a privilege to serve the women and infants of this community especially during a time when they are most vulnerable and when clinical expertise and compassion can make all the difference.”

While she served as CNO for West Houston Medical Center she was responsible for all inpatient nursing departments and directly supervised the Quality Department. Also under Harrow’s leadership, the hospital was recently named by The Joint Commission as one of the top performing hospitals in using evidence-based care processes to improve patient outcomes. Under her leadership West Houston Medical Center was also designated as a Pathway to Excellence® organization by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) demonstrating a commitment to creating a work environment where nurses can flourish and improve not only nurse satisfaction but also patient satisfaction and quality of care.

Harrow holds a Master of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Texas Health Science Center. She is a certified green belt in Six Sigma, a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Texas Organization of Nurse Executives and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Harrow transitioned into her new role in June succeeding 54-year-old Molly McComas, who announced this year that she would retire. McComas served as the Chief Nursing Officer for The Woman’s Hospital of Texas for the past 18 years.

TONI COTTON JOINS WEST HOUSTON MEDICAL CENTER AS CHIEF NURSING OFFICER

Houston, TX — HCA affiliated West Houston Medical Center (WHMC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Todd Caliva, announced that 51-year-old Toni Cotton, MS, BSN, has been promoted to the hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) where she will be responsible for all inpatient nursing departments and will directly oversee the Quality Department.  Cotton comes to West Houston Medical Center from HCA affiliated Kingwood Medical Center where she served as associate CNO.

“I am looking forward to joining the team at West Houston Medical Center,” Cotton said. “I hope to inspire those I work with and maintain the rich history of excellence for which West Houston Medical Center is renowned.”

Cotton has more than ten years of clinical bedside nursing experience and fifteen years of Nursing Leadership experience. Over the course of her career, Toni has experienced progressive promotion within nursing leadership. During her tenure as associate CNO for HCA affiliated Kingwood Medical Center, her clinical responsibilities included administrative responsibilities for all inpatient medical surgical units, Emergency Department & Express Care, opening a new observation unit,  patient satisfaction, start-up chaplain services, development of employee recognition program, and other hospital-wide process improvement projects.

Cotton holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Houston Baptist University and a Master of Science Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and American College of Healthcare Executives. Cotton succeeds 47-year-old Andrea Harrow who was recently promoted to CNO of The Woman’s Hospital of Texas.

CHAD CHRISTIANSON JOINS WEST HOUSTON MEDICAL CENTER AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Houston, TX — HCA affiliated West Houston Medical Center’s (WHMC) Chief Executive Officer, Todd Caliva, announced that 32-year-old Chad Christianson has been named the facility’s Chief Operating Officer. Christianson was previously the Associate Chief Operating Officer at WHMC and has held a variety of healthcare leadership positions since 2005.

“I am looking forward to continuing my work at West Houston Medical Center,” Christianson said. “The team of administrators, physicians, employees and volunteers is exceptional.”

“Chad Christianson brings broad experience in healthcare operations to West Houston Medical Center” said Caliva. “While at WHMC as Associate Chief Operating Officer, Chad was responsible for the Food and Nutrition Services, Environmental Services, Respiratory Therapy, OP Wound Care and Health One- West Campus. Chad also led the oversight, planning and construction phases of our $5.5 million freestanding emergency department in Katy, and we look forward to his continued contributions.”

Christianson received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Florida, and both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Christianson is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Southeast Texas Chapter ACHE, Healthcare Financial Management Association, and Ft. Bend County and Katy Chambers of Commerce. Christianson succeeds 35-year-old Charles Laird who was recently promoted to COO of Clear Lake Regional Medical Center and Mainland Medical Center, a campus of Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.
