HOUSTON — Coast Guard helicopter and boat crews searched for a missing boater after a collision off Roseland Park, near Baytown, Saturday afternoon.

The Baytown Police Department contacted Coast Guard Sector Houston watchstandars at 4:45 p.m., requesting their assistance in finding a missing boater. They reported that a 17-foot center console boat and a jon boat collided, which sent the two men aboard the jon boat into the water.

Baytown Fire Department crews pulled one of the men from the water with minor facial injuries, but search crews have been unable to locate the other man. Neither of the two men were wearing lifejackets.

The watchstanders launched Coast Guard crews aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and a 25-foot Response Boat - Small, to search with the police, fire and dive teams.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is searching for the people from the 17-foot center console boat. After the incident they reportedly trailered there a boat and departed the scene.

The Coast Guard helicopter, the police and the fire department's dive team have suspended their search.  They are expected to resume searching in the morning.
