Statement of County Attorney Vince Ryan regarding Department of Education Issue
The Department of Education filed a lawsuit today in Federal District Court for the Southern District of Texas. The lawsuit claims that incorrect election boundaries were used for the primary elections for HCDE trustee positions 4 and 6. Our Office is reviewing the lawsuit and will make appropriate recommendations to the Commissioners Court.

Anticipating this litigation, the Office of Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan requested an
executive session with the Commissioners Court for Tuesday, July 24th. The notice of this
