CIVIC CENTER COMPLEX SCHEDULES GRAND OPENING FOR THE NEW EVENT CENTRE

Beaumont, Texas -  Claudie Hawkins, Director of Event Facilities  & Libraries for the Beaumont Civic Center Complex, has announced that the Grand Opening for the city’s newest facility will be held August 21st  at 5:30 PM.  The Event Centre, a ten million dollar facility built to replace the aging and hurricane damaged Harvest Club, is now operational and is booked well into 2013. 

The Event Centre has 16,000 square feet of event space including a permanent stage, dressing rooms, a catering area and outdoor canopies on the east and west sides.  The 14,000 square-foot roof canopy overlooks a 2-acre lake and a 3,800 square-foot roof canopy containing a platform stage area overlooks a 12-acre park.  Amenities include a high performance sound and lighting system as well as two 80-inch TV monitors and playback access for DVD players and laptops. There is a tree-lined walking trail and the lake features a 35-foot geyser fountain.

The Event Centre is part of Beaumont’s Civic Center Complex that includes the magnificent Julie Rogers Theatre, the historic Jefferson Theatre, a Civic Center, and four Community Centers.  Information concerning rental of the facility is available by consulting the city’s web sight or calling the Civic Center Complex at 409-838-3435.
