Midtown Management District Annual Board of Directors Meeting

Houston, TX - The Midtown Management District is hosting its Annual Board of Directors Meeting on Wednesday, August 1, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Central Bank Community Room located at 2217 Milam at Webster, Houston, TX 77002.

The meeting will feature an exciting and informative presentation on “Midtown Momentum for the Arts,” a plan for future cultural arts and entertainment growth in Midtown. The presentation will highlight the details of a long term plan for arts related programming in the community; as well as the benefits of providing such programming. “Midtown Momentum for the Arts” strives to coalesce Midtown arts and entertainment venues in an effort to bring national awareness to the Midtown arts community.

Other topics to be covered include the “Midtown Parks Placemaking Program.” The District is planning now for future park development.  Midtown Park will be upgraded and opened by March 2013. The community is planning on the opening of Superblock Park in 2014. The goal of the Parks Placemaking Program is to develop engaging community programming that will attract residents and visitors to Midtown owned park spaces. Additionally, the enhanced programming of these public spaces supports economic growth in the area.

Anyone who is considering moving to or opening a business in Midtown is encouraged to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the day to day operations of this public improvement district and how it can benefit you. Evening meetings offer Midtown stakeholders and visitors who cannot attend the day meetings the chance to get involved and gain information on key Midtown projects. Guests are also invited to discuss community concerns and provide guidance in finding proactive solutions.
