Help Lower Taxes! Receive Tax Bill Via Email
During the last Legislative Session, House Bill 843 was passed which allows Texas tax offices to send statements via electronic mail (e-mail) beginning with the 2012 tax year. In order to comply with the requirements of Section 31.01(k) of the Tax Code, we have worked with our software vendor to develop a system that we believe will be simple for property owners and, assuming good participation, have the potential of saving you money! The cost of producing tax statements exceeds $65,000 each year and participation in the email program will determine the amount of savings.
Sign up today at the Galveston County Tax Office website at www.galcotax.com and click on the red button named “Look Up and Pay Property Taxes Here” and follow the instructions to look up your property tax account(s). On your property “homepage” scroll down to link “Register to Receive Electronic Tax Statement,” complete the requested information, read and agree to the terms and submit your request. You will receive a verification email within 15 minutes from GalvestonCountyTaxOffice@taxoffice.com. You must follow the instructions in the email within three (3) days. If you do not respond, you must resubmit your request.
Once signed up, you will continue to receive all subsequent tax bills electronically, until revoked by the requestor in writing to the Galveston County Tax Office Property Tax Department. Therefore, if your email changes, you would want to reregister for future statements.
