Rosenberg Development Corporation Business Appreciation Reception a Success
More Than 200 Show Up to Chamber-Produced Event Supporting Rosenberg Businesses
The Rosenberg Development Corporation’s annual Business Appreciation Reception drew more than 200 representatives from area businesses Thursday to the Rosenberg Civic Center.
For the third consecutive year, the RDC partnered with the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance to produce the event. The event is intended to help show appreciation to Rosenberg businesses, provide business owners with information and resources to grow their business, and answer questions for budding business owners about the process of starting a new business.
The 2012 event included free samples of some of the finest food in Rosenberg from restaurants such as Another Time Soda Fountain, Buena Vista, Buffalo Wild Wings, Cernoch’s Country Kitchen, Freebirds World Burritos, Gringo’s Mexican Restaurant, Olive Garden, Panera Bread and Pepperoni’s New York Style Pizza and free soft beverages from Silver Eagle Distributors.
Exhibitors included: American Red Cross, CFBCA, CFBCA Hispanic Business Division, CFBCA Young Professionals Division, Conrad N. Hilton School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, Downtown Merchants of Rosenberg, Fort Bend County Women’s Center/Pennywise Resale Center, Fort Bend Herald, Imperial Performing Arts, Rosenberg Civic Center, Rosenberg Development Corporation, Rosenberg Fire Department, Rosenberg Parks & Recreation Department, Rosenberg Planning Department, Rosenberg Police Department, Texana Center, Texas State Technical College, University of Houston’s Fort Bend County Small Business Development Center, University of Houston Manufacturing Assistance Center, West Fort Bend Management District, Wharton County Junior College and Workforce Solutions.
Music was provided by Vicki and Rodney Merwin, and a special on-site art demonstration was provided by local artist Robyn Miller, courtesy of Imperial Performing Arts. Door prizes were awarded, including a grand prize of a Rosenberg stay-cation package.
The RDC was established through public referendum in 1995 and is allocated one-half cent of the City of Rosenberg’s sales tax proceeds to invest in projects that promote or develop new or expanding business, create jobs, and improve the quality of life in the community. The RDC Board of Directors meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Rosenberg Civic Center. The public is encouraged to attend these meetings.
