Jefferson County
City of Taylor Landing
News Release
Monday, July 30, 2012

Where is Taylor Landing?

On September 19, 2005, a city by the name of Taylor Landing was incorporated.

This little town, located off of Highway 73 on Taylor’s Bayou, is a diverse community of approximately 228 people that call their city “a little piece of heaven”.

Last year, the National Civic League announced that the City of Taylor Landing was chosen as a finalist for its 2011 All-America City Award.  Taylor Landing, alongside Fort Worth, was one of two Texas cities among 26 finalists across the U.S.  So, on June 15, 2011, the City of Taylor Landing traveled to Kansas City, Missouri to present their story to a national jury of experts.

This Monday, July 30, 2012, Jefferson County Commissioners Court will be awarding this city with a proclamation at 1:30 in the Commissioners Courtroom.

Before that, a reception will be held, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the 60th District Court Courtroom.  Come by and visit with the residents of this city and hear what their “little piece of heaven” is all about.
