COM Foundation awards scholarships
A total of 54 students have been awarded College of the Mainland Foundation scholarships for the fall semester. The COM students were selected based on their academic performance and financial need.
COM Foundation scholarships are made possible through corporate and private contributions, including donations from Shell Oil, Mainland Medical Center Auxiliary and BP. The Foundation also sponsors fundraising events and continues to solicit additional donations in order to increase the number of scholarships awarded and to provide scholarships to all students in need.
“Our goal is to make sure that deserving students are able to get scholarships so they don’t have a reason to say, ‘I can’t go to college,’” said Don Parsley, president of the COM Foundation.
