Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to approve an engagement letter with Pattillo, Brown and Hill, LLP for auditing services.

The county is in the second year of a three-year contract with the firm.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve the Phase 3 Project Completion Report and project as-built drawings from Bailey Architects for the Jefferson County Courthouse Restoration Project for masonry and windows.

The commissioners court tabled a burn ban order for the county.  No burn ban is currently in effect for the county.

The commissioners court tabled action on authorizing the county’s purchasing agent to enter into contract negotiations for the installation and operation of an automated teller machine for the county.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to amend a project agreement with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the Keith Lake Boat Ramp Construction Project to extend the expiration date of the construction grant agreement through July 31, 2013.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve external additional costs, not to exceed $31,000, associated with the Jefferson County Regional Marine Security Center.  The additional costs will fund the removal and relocation of existing overhead power lines along the entrance of the Sabine Pass Port Authority facility.

The commissioners court adopted a proclamation recognizing Pioneering Women, a grass-roots organization “founded to enhance the lives of women”.

The proclamation was made to note August 6-10 as “Women Making Noise Week” in commemoration of the 92nd anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed women the right to vote.  Proclamation
