Dickinson ISD Board of Trustees

The Dickinson Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to authorize joining a lawsuit against the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association associated with claims for damages caused by Hurricane Ike.

The item was discussed during an executive session.

The board voted unanimously to approve employee hiring, resignations and retirements as discussed in closed session.

During the executive session, the board also received an update on pending litigation and discussed property issues.  No action was taken on those items following the executive session.

The board voted unanimously to schedule a public hearing for August 27 to receive comments concerning the districts FY2013 Operating Budget.

The school board voted unanimously to renew property and casualty insurance policies.

The district renewed its property insurance policy with Landmark American Company/Essex, windstorm coverage with the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association, flood insurance with the National Flood Insurance Program, and casualty and other coverage with the Texas Association of School Boards.

All other action items were approved by unanimous vote.  All members were present.  Agenda
