William E. Morgan, Sr.

William E. Morgan, Sr.William E. Morgan, Sr., 57, departed this life on August 3, 2012, at Mainland Medical Center.

Williams was born on March 11, 1955, in Galveston, TX to Luke III and Lillie Mae Morgan.  He attended school in Galveston and was a 1973 graduate of Ball High School.  William enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served from 1976-1980. He was formerly employed with the Galveston Shipyard, and as a Campus Police at UTMB Hospital. He presently was employed with Valero Chemical.

Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents: William and Willie Mae Jones, Luke Morgan, Jr., Lee, Sr. and Viola Hutton; sister and brother in law: Debbie and Denzel V. Williams Sr.; uncle and aunt: Lawrence and Alberta Jones, uncle: Clifford Sam Morgan; father in law: Raymond Simmons; nephew: David Wayne Morgan.

He leaves with precious memories, a loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Raylene Simmons Morgan; devoted sons: Raynard (Jamieko) and William, Jr.(Satin); daughter: Sukari (Jonathan); granddaughters:  Jai’ana and Diantenique; grandson: Kaylen, Kaisaiah, William III, Jordan, and Jayden; devoted sisters: Patricia “Mommie” Countee, Bobbie Yvette Baines ; brother: Luke Morgan IV; devoted nephew: Christopher M. Countee; devoted cousin: Jackie Morgan; mother in law: Lurlene Simmons; goddaughters, Alexandria Watson and Ke’Ana Tyler; uncle, aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00AM on Saturday, August 11, 2012, followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Avenue L Baptist Church, Rev. E.R. Johnson Pastor, Rev. Otha Ross eulogist. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery
