Santa Fe City Council on Thursday voted 4-1, with Ronald “Bubba” Jannett opposed, to approve a legal services agreement with the Law Offices of Shaun Hodge and the Tylka Law Center to assist with the recovery of insurance claims owed to the city related to damages resulting from Hurricane Ike.

The firm will work on a contingency fee basis.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a mowing contract and indemnity agreement with Joe Jackson for the mowing of city property at FM 646 North near FM 1764.

The city council tabled action regarding the first reading of an ordinance to regulate the usage of golf carts on public streets. The item will be discussed further at a future meeting.

The city council voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, a zoning change to reclassify 52.933 acres of property along the west side of FM 646 and Second Street from an Agricultural Residential District to Highway Commercial and Light Manufacturing districts.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
