Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to order an election for November 6.

Jefferson County’s ballot this year includes the race for county tax assessor-collector, sheriff and constables in Precinct 1 and Precinct 4.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Jeff Ross as tabulation supervisor and Paul Helegda as assistant tabulation supervisor at the Central County Station for the November 6 election.

The commissioners court unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing Congressman Ted Poe for his representation of the people of Jefferson County.  The resolution will be presented to Poe on August 15. Resolution

The commissioners court voted unanimously to release $133,533 in retainage to Phoenix I Restoration and Construction, Ltd, for the third phase of the Jefferson County Courthouse Masonry and Window Restoration project.

The commissioners court tabled action regarding a burn ban order for the county.  No burn ban is currently in effect.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize Purchasing Agent Deborah Syphrett-Clark to enter into contract negotiations for the installation and operation of an Automated Teller Machine for the county.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to extend the bid due date for a proposed 200,000 gallon water storage tank in Hamshire.  The bid due date was extended from August 14 to August 21.

The commissioners court adopted a proclamation recognizing September as the Gift of Life Ovarian Cancer Month.  Proclamation
