Assistance League of the Bay Area Prospective Member Meeting
Assistance League® of the Bay Area will host a Prospective Membership Social the evening of Monday, September 17.
Assistance League of the Bay Area is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for at-risk populations through community-based philanthropic programs. Assistance League member volunteers are working moms, active seniors, corporate leaders, small business owners, educators, homemakers, and others who actively participate in making each philanthropic program and functional committee work by volunteering their time and talents.
Members join for various reasons: the desire to give back to the community, the need to stay active after retirement, the enjoyment of new social activities and as a way to meet new friends. We are proud to be a chapter of Assistance League®. Together with 119 other chapters, we provide community service through our member volunteers who are committed to making a difference in our communities.
During the last fiscal year, Assistance League of the Bay Area contributed 24,300 volunteer hours, clothed over 1,700 elementary, middle, and high school students in need from four area school districts (Clear Creek, Dickinson, La Porte, and Friendswood), provided over 70 children in need with scholarships to attend summer Kids’ U at the University of Houston Clear Lake, clothed 71 senior girls and 35 boys from families in need with prom attire, and made a difference in our community through countless other efforts and programs.
To join us for a casual, social gathering and opportunity to find out how you can become a member, please contact Dee Cover at 512-656-1059 or email deecover@hotmail.com. To learn more about Assistance League, visit us online at bayarea.assistanceleague.org.
