Wednesday, August 15, 2012

Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to name Interim Purchasing Director Lesa Girouard to the position full time.

The item was taken into an executive session for discussion before consideration.

The commissioners court voted to reconsider issuing a burn ban order for unincorporated areas of the county at the commissioner court's August 28 meeting. The commissioners court originally considered approval of a 90 day ban on outdoor burning due to increased wildfire risks, but amended the motion to consider the item at a future date.

The annual road plan for FY2013 as proposed by the Road and Bridge Department was pulled from the agenda. Therefore, no action was taken on the item.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to order an election for November 6.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to adopt a resolution of support for the “South New” route proposed for construction of State Highway 99, also known as The Grand Parkway. Resolution and Route
