Pasadena City Council on Tuesday voted 8-1, with Don Harrison opposed, to approve, on first reading, a $45,000 contract with Civil Concepts, Inc. for the company to assist the city in preparing engineering analysis of various projects identified for funding under the Hurricane Ike Recovery Program.
The city council voted deferred action on approving the FY2013 budget of the Pasadena Second Century Corporation.
During the city's pre-council meeting, Council Member Pat Van Houte noted there was a great deal of discussion regarding bus services, and that there was “some conflicting information” and other options for funding, and suggested the item be delayed for one week.
Mayor Johnny Isbell appointed council members Phil Cayten and Steve Cote to investigate the matter further for future consideration.
The city council voted unanimously to approve, on final reading, contracts with Century Asphalt, Ltd., and Martin Asphalt Co. for the purchase of asphalt, emulsified and tack oil for a period of one year.
The city council deferred bid openings for landscape and irrigation system maintenance and for demolition of the former Deepwater Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 3512 Highway 225.
