Jamaica Beach City Council on Monday voted unanimously to authorize a payment of $840 to the Beach Erosion Response Task Force as the city's share of costs for a political consultant.
The city pays a share along with Galveston County, the City of Galveston, the Galveston Park Board, the Bolivar Peninsula and the West Galveston Island Property Owners Association. The total combined payment for the task force is $48,000.
The city council voted to approve a $954 payment for a contract with the Galveston County Health Department for water pollution control and abatement services.
The city council voted to grant a variance for a boat dock at 4203 West Bayside.
The city council voted to grant a variance for a boat dock/slip at 4223 Jolly Roger.
The city council voted to issue a proclamation declaring September 19 as Texting & Driving – It Can Wait Day.
